Ann Harder, LMFT

Individual, Family, and Couple Therapist in Wichita, KS

Humans were created to enjoy our relationships, but so often life stresses, parenting struggles, hectic schedules, and unresolved conflicts overshadow that innate joy in each other. I utilize Gottman Method in couples therapy to help couples rediscover the joy in their relationship. I believe the Gottman Method is the best researched, studied, and restorative approach for couples ready to fall in love all over again.

I work with individuals to help understand themselves, their histories, and build the life they want to live for the future.

I work with families to increase attachment and connection, and work through difference. I offer individual, couple, and family therapy in East Wichita.

  • I can help individuals find healing from trauma, manage depressive and anxious symptoms, and find new tools to manage symptoms. I also help clients identify their boundaries and build a foundation for their future.

  • I utilize Gottman Method, emotion-focused therapy, and family systems therapy to help couples understand themselves and each other better, improve communication, and set healthy boundaries. I have complete Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level I & II.

About Me

My office is located in east Wichita, Kansas in the Omni Center. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, educated at Friends University, and am currently accepting new clients. I see individuals, couples, and families, ages 12 and up.

We were never meant to live as islands, cut off from support or a helping hand. Yet many of us internalize the belief that asking for help is weak, or that we are not as deserving of support as other people. Therapy can be a way to give yourself the gift of support. The first call or email is usually the hardest step. You are worth that first step.

I believe that our bodies and minds are intricately connected and I seek to help clients find healing through integrating body, mind, and spirit. I am able to help clients integrate faith into therapy sessions at the client’s request.

Learning has always been important to me! I received my BA from Moody Bible Institute, an MA from Wheaton College in Christian History, and an MS from Friends University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have continued my growth as a therapist by completing Level 1 and 2 of the Gottman Method Couples Therapy Training and by teaching undergraduate courses at Friends University.

When not working with clients or teaching students, I enjoy traveling with family and friends (I’m partial to Australia!), arguing with my book club, going on walks, playing piano at my church, and getting into a classic British mini-series.
